1920 to Current Day… Our story so far…

1920s -Robert Hopkins & Sons founded by Robert Hopkins, making wooden dolly tubs in Old Hill, West Midlands.

1930s-40s – Bullock St West Bromwich site acquired, the site we still occupy today! Drum cleaning services then began.

1950s-60s – Wooden barrel manufacturing ceases. Founder Robert Hopkins retires and Robert Hopkins Jr with his sons Robert & Norman take over the business.

1970s-80s – The site suffers a devastating fire in 1972 requiring rebuilding of units and replacement machinery. Robert Hopkins Jnr passes away leaving the running of the business to Norman and son Peter.

1990-2000 – Norman retires. Peter and Denise Hopkins take over as Directors and found Robert Hopkins Environmental providing Waste Management Services. They expand the team with experienced Waste Industry professionals

2000-10s – The company achieves ISO9001 & ISO14001 and forges partnerships with leading multinational companies requiring waste services. The site is developed including a new Bulk Transfer Station to facilitate growing waste streams.

2010 – Current Day – Gavin Hopkins, son of Peter & Denise joins as Financial Director. The business continues to evolve with a fleet expansion and site improvements, including a new entrance, additional weighbridge, new HGV loading area ,Bulk transfer station upgrade & expansion, followed by new larger offices to accommodate a growing team and expansion of Technical services provision.
